For about 20 years my husband and I have been customers of Squint in Oakville. Squint Eyewear is a welcoming place where customers are remembered with a friendly greeting and often the offer of a hot or cold beverage by Adriano or Michelina. Service, if required, is always available promptly and willingly. It never is too much trouble.

Although we appreciate this warmth and responsiveness, it does not explain why we keep returning to Squint for new eyewear. It is the solid professionalism and knowledgeable advice that brings us back repeatedly. Adriano’s advice for me on frames from their up-to-date selection considers my personal style, the trends, and also very important, what will be a good fit. He is willing to comment on frames as I try them on, and to offer helpful suggestions that have always led to a happy decision. And – as proof that it clearly was a good decision – I often have had strangers spontaneously say – “I like your glasses”. Occasionally, as well, I have been asked where I got them.

Purchasing glasses however is more than a fashion issue. The right lenses are vital. Adriano, Squint Oakville’s licensed Optician, advises me on quality lenses and on available options. He measures precisely to assure the corrections prescribed will “fall” in the exact places required for vision correction. I have attributed the fact that I comfortably wear my glasses throughout the day and in many circumstances without giving a thought to the fact that I am wearing multifocal lenses to his professional skills and conscientious measurements.

Adding to all the other positives are the quality of the frames and especially of the lenses used for their glasses. Not all lenses are equal. I don't think that this is generally realied.

My Mom, sister, and I are customers of Squint Eyewear and we all agree we wouldn't go anywhere else. As other reviewers have said, Adriano is exceptional at picking the perfect frames for your face.

In addition, he has deep technical knowledge. For example, when he learned my Mom has cataracts, he recommended brown lenses for her sunglasses as that tint provides a better contrast. When he learned about my -8 prescription, he recommended the new Zeiss ClearMind lenses. I believe Squint is one of only 5 eyewear stores to pilot these lenses in North America, which shows how highly Zeiss regards Squint.

Adriano has always worked with us to pick out our glasses, but we also want to mention Michelle and Michelina. They are so welcoming, both on the phone and in person.

I stopped in as I had wanted a pair of JMM sunglasses for a while. Michelle helped me and was amazing. We found the right sunglasses for me and the service from the second I walked in to when I left was impeccable. I will definitely be shopping there again.

The service provided by Squint Eyewear at the Rosedale location is exceptional. This is the second time in the last two years that I have had my eyes examined at, and then purchased frames or lenses from, Squint. Each time I have been impressed by the superb service provided by the optometrist and by Maddy, who explains all the lens options clearly, provides excellent advice and ensures that the glasses fit comfortably. The range of frames carried by Squint is unique and you won't find similar ones at any other store in Toronto. It's a bit on the expensive side but definitely worth it!

Excellent service! Nick is very Knowledgeable, kind, patient and takes the time to explain all options in detail! He even followed up with me a week later to see how I was doing with the new prescription and to see if I had any follow up questions which truly made it a personal touch! Thank you Squint Eyewear and a big shout out to Nick!

I went into the store on Friday to ask if they could fix Lindberg frames. Nick, the store manager, did it and didn’t charge me. For the same service, the store at Sherway Garden charged $40.00. They also fixed my Maui Jim sunglasses. Nice lady offered coffee, water. Great service, wonderful people. From now on, this is my go-to store for everything related glasses.

I came in because a screw had fallen out of my glasses and the lens popped out. The staff Danielle was so kind and helpful. She fixed it for me right away and made the whole experience super easy. Really appreciate the great service and would definitely recommend this place!

Sept2026 update: Nick and his staff are the kindest and most helpful ever, they really go above and beyond. Cannot recommend them enough as they helped me with a lens transfer given I don’t live in Toronto anymore.
